History Lypossage™ was initially researched by Charles W. Wiltsie III in 1998. He was curious as to whether or not deep tissue massage would have an impact on body dimensions. In his first study, Charles started with 100 women between the ages of 30 and 50 and worked form the lower trunk to the mid and upper thigh. He discovered that 95% of the women averaged a 7.5 inch loss in the area without losing or gaining more than 1 pound. Since then he has tested his theory on a wide range of ages and gotten the same results. How it Works Lypossage™ uses sequential, rhythmic myofascial and lymphatic drainage techniques to target “problem areas” of the body. It can: improve the look of cellulite (lumpy fat deposits that give the skin a dimpled look, especially around the thighs and buttocks) stimulate collagen production, to encourage skin tightening encourage excess fluid to move out of the tissues What to Expect To get the best results, clients need to complete 18 treatments, provided two to three times per week for six to nine weeks. Lypossage™ involves vigorous manipulation of the tissues, so you may be slightly sore following treatment, particularly in areas with a lot of cellulite. There are three zones in which Lypossage™ is most commonly performed: Zone One: hips, buttocks, thighs, and lower abdomen Zone Two: chest, back, arms Zone Three: neck, face, head How long will it last? The effects of the Lypossage™ series of treatments can last between 8 months and a year. Monthly or bimonthly maintenance, along with diet, exercise, and drinking lots of water can help you in retaining the results for a longer period.
